| | (April 2010) The Partnership for Economic Development in Douglas County, Oregon, has hired Chabin Concepts to refine their industry targets and update their strategic plan. Located in southwest Oregon, Douglas County spans Interstate 5 and extends to the Pacific Coast. It is largely rural and has had a historically resource-based economy. Roseburg, the county seat, is the largest city, with a population of about 21,000. Chabin worked with the Douglas County community of Reedsport and nearby Coos Bay in the early 2000s, creating and implementing targeted marketing campaigns. Chabin president Audrey Taylor said this familiarity with the region will help the team hit the ground running on this new project. Through business climate interviews, a community tour, and industrial analysis, Chabin will identify the most compatible targets for the area, as well as identifying potential leveraging opportunities, including the potential to tap state and federal programs to support local efforts. The outcome will be an implementation guide highlighting action items, resources, and budget. | |
